Gwynne Johnson

Mrs. Johnson’s career has included professional choirs and symphonic performances as well as church music positions.

Gwynne Montgomery Johnson earned a B.A. in Music at U.N.T. and a M.M. at U.T.S.A. She has been performing as a singer and teaching voice for over 40 years. While at U.N.T., she sang in both the Jazz Singers, under Paris Rutherford, and the A Capella Choir under Hal Gibbons. Her professional career over the years has included professional choirs and symphonic  performances, solo jazz and pop gigs, as well as positions in church music. She has provided lessons at music academies, various high schools and at North Central Texas College in Corinth, TX. She currently maintains a private voice studio, sings in The Texas Voices, a professional choir in Plano, TX, and performs jazz in the DFW area.

Mrs. Johnson is actively involved in the music ministry of Denton Bible Church. She is a singer on the praise team, a volunteer for the high school student choir, and a member of the adult choir.
