Glen T. Miller

Over 38 years he taught elementary music, middle school choir, junior high choir, or high school choir and music theory.

Glen T. Miller became a Christian as a child through the ministry of Sky Ranch Christian Camp, and his love for music and ministry took root and grew during the seven years he worked as a summer staff member there. Mentors from Sky Ranch discipled him throughout his teens, laying a foundation for the faith that has deepened and defined his life ever since.

Glen received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music at SFASU, and later earned a Masters in Education. For 38 years he taught at various Texas schools, gaining experience in almost every level of music instruction, including elementary music, middle school choir, junior high choir, high school choir, and music theory. In the 1990s, Glen and his wife, Sharon, were recruited to become the directors of Showstoppers, a junior high show choir that was launched through the SFASU music preparatory division. Later on, Showstoppers of East Texas became an independent choral ensemble of 7th - 12th graders with students from all over East Texas.

The Millers moved to Denton in 2014 to continue their music teaching careers and to be closer to children and grandchildren. Their four adult married children love and follow the Lord, with their sons serving as worship leaders in area churches, and their son-in-law as the pastor of Faith Bible Church in McKinney. Photos of thirteen grandchildren grace the walls of the Miller home.

Glen retired as the choir director of Lone Star High School in Frisco in 2019. He currently teaches part time as a private piano, voice, and guitar instructor. The Millers became members of Denton Bible Church in 2021, and joined the adult choir. Last fall, Glen volunteered to help lead the church’s middle school youth choir. Local home school students and members of Denton Bible Church encouraged the Millers to start up a home school choir, and in September of 2022, Showstoppers of North Texas was born.

The Millers have always loved working with young people and encouraging them to know and follow Jesus more fully. While Glen’s dear wife, Sharon, went home to be with Jesus in January 2023, she would be delighted to know that their vision for music ministry lives on.
